| Job Description | Major Duties and Responsibilities - The SD Specialist may be responsible for: --Conducting SD within an assigned area as directed by supervisory personnel; --Identifying suspicious activity and developing information in order to make a preliminary analysis of its significance. Engages in close observation to identify and register surveillance operations on client facilities, employees, --Reporting findings, makes oral or written reports of findings to the responsible supervisory security personnel. May be required to maintain surveillance records and/or perform data entry into software applications;--Initiating emergency responses to possible hostile actions as necessary; and--Providing other surveillance related services as assigned. |
| Qualifications | Have a high school diploma, OR
Have at least five years of full-time work experience in military service, police service security work, at least three of which must be in counter intelligence, tactical services unit, or special forces. Possess the following job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities: -English Proficiency (e.g., reading, writing, speaking, listening); -Mental Abilities (e.g., visual observation, x-ray interpretation); - Personal Characteristics and Skills (e.g., customer service, dependability, integrity); and -Physical Abilities (e.g., repeatedly lifting and carrying baggage weighing up to 70 lbs, bending, reaching, stooping, squatting, standing, and walking) In addition, all TSOs must meet job-related medical standards that will be assessed in a pre-employment medical evaluation. This evaluation considers relevant aspects of all body systems (e.g., cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, auditory, etc.).The medical standards include but are not limited to: -Visual ability including two functioning eyes with: Distance vision correctable to 20/30 or better in the best eye and 20/100 or better in the worse eye; Near vision correctable to 20/40 or better binocular; Color perception (e.g., red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple, brown, black, white, gray). Note: color filters (e.g., contact lenses) for enhancing color discrimination are prohibited; -Hearing (corrected or uncorrected) as measured by audiometry cannot exceed: a) an average hearing loss of 25 decibels (ANSI) at 500, 1000, 2000 and 3000Hz in each ear, and b) single reading of 45 decibels at 4000 and 6000 Hz in each ear; -Adequate joint mobility, dexterity and range of motion, strength, and stability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 70 pounds; and -Blood pressure not to exceed 140 / 90. Conditions of Employment: To be considered for initial employment, you must be able to: -Pass a pre-employment drug screening test -Pass a background investigation, including a criminal check. -Demonstrate daily a fitness for duty without impairment due to illegal drugs, sleep deprivation, medication, or alcohol; -Work all of the following: Part-time (16-25) hours per week. Part-time work hours for this position consists of shift-work on any day from Sunday through Saturday, which may include irregular hours, nights, holidays, overtime, extended shifts and weekend shifts, changing shifts, and split shifts. A Split Shift schedule is defined as any two shifts, lasting at least two (2) hours each, in one 24-hour period with a break of at least two (2) hours between shifts. Exceptions include additional shifts to support morning, midday, and afternoon or evening operations. Specific work shifts and schedules will be determined by the airport. -Pass all recurrent and specialized training and re-certification tests on a periodic basis; -Pass random drug screening tests; and -Pass all recurrent background investigations, including a criminal check. Failure to meet the above requirements mandates removal from security screening and may result in termination of employment. |
